BIO
Another convert from the trading card game Magic: The Gathering, Noah Boeken hails from Amsterdam in the Netherlands, has been playing poker professionally since 2003, and is one of the foremost European players playing the global poker circuit.
Boeken was European Magic Champion in 2000, a victory that earned him over $10,000, but he was soon to transfer his strategic game playing skills to poker, and the potential rewards suddenly became significantly higher.
In 2001 Noah began playing online and started visiting casinos in Holland, and there struck up a close friendship with Dutch poker legend Marcel Luske. Luske, the all-time leading Dutch money winner, soon became Boeken’s mentor, guiding the young man in his fledging poker career. Despite being regarded as one of the new breed of poker players, Boeken has been on the scene for a while now, with a string of money finishes at the world’s top live events reaching back to 2003.
He has six cashes in PokerStars European Poker Tour tournaments to his name, with two final table appearances. His finest hour in the EPT came in Season 1 when he won the Copenhagen tournament, scooping $191,355 for his efforts. He now has $305,271 in total EPT winnings and remains a highly respected and feared player on the Tour. Boeken also has seven cashes at the World Series of Poker* in Las Vegas, all in Hold’em, in 2005, 2007 and 2008.
Online, Boeken is a highly accomplished operator, with the results to match. He has won the popular $200 tournaments on PokerStars on two occasions, beating a field of more than 4,300 players each time, and has also won the PokerStars Tournament Leader Board prize for best player on the site on three separate occasions.
The young Dutchman has $1 million in live tournament prize money firmly in his sights, as he currently sits just shy with $924,717 in career earnings. He joined Team PokerStars Pro in early 2007 and is now perfectly poised to take his game and results to the next level. With a strong awareness of poker’s popularity, Boeken also appears regularly on Dutch TV with Luske in a number of poker themed shows. Noah is a member of Team PokerStars Pro and can be found playing online using the screen name ‘Exclusive’.
